This was a cute rhyming book about a boy that doesn’t have many friends. He is very lonely. It is cute how he imagines what his parents might give him when they tell him they are taking him to a pet rescue shelter. My daughter loves the hippo picture. They are silly things like a short necked giraffe. It is cute how he gets to know his new puppy, and how Hap becomes one of the family. It is a hardback book that comes with a paper cover that most likely won’t last long with my kids. There is one sentence in there that would make it a “Christian” type book. The pictures are great and kid friendly. This would be a great book for any kid that will be getting a dog as a companion or has one. I would recommend it for sure!
