Dark Halo (Angel Eyes Series) by Shannon Dittemore

Ephesians 6:12
For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.
I read Angel Eyes what seems years ago. I picked up book 3 as soon as I saw it. Shannon Dittemore opens your eyes to the heavenly realm in all her books. This one touched me in many ways. I didn’t read book 2, yet I was able to follow with the help of the reminder section in the front. These books are lead by the main 2 characters that are in love with each other. The boy was raised by an angel for a few years, then when he meets Brielle, she is given Angel Eyes – the ability to see into the celestial world. This is the final book of the series, all the mysteries given in the books before are show, the main fight against Satan and their town is fought.
In this story, Brielle sees the heavenly realm. Fear is described as a thick sticky stubstance seen dripping from those that it takes over. In the battle they fight facing fear and giving it over to the Providence – God’s Will. I thought this was a great eye opener on how things we think about – fear – it given a heavenly outlook. No telling how our other faults really look to the heavenly realm. They talk about how fear puts you in the devil’s control. I bet worry does too.
When they have to lose the devil’s grip on them… they describe how it is painful, but as soon as the pain ends – the healing begins..
WORSHIP _ I love how this story describes worship. It is a fragrance, it is seen in ribbons of color. It is awesome to think that our worship will show in the heavenly realm.
2 Corinthians 2:15
Our lives are a Christ-like fragrance rising up to God. But this fragrance is perceived differently by those who are being saved and by those who are perishing.
Prince of Darkness _ They way the devil goes from human form to his other form is very detailed. He will make himself look charming, he can be seen the evil that he is, but in the end he shows that he was created by God. Everything God creates is beautiful. The devil is a fallen creature of God. If he would tempt Jesus, when he tempts us he will try to show us things that he could give us, show us things that could happen, but in the end God Wins. The devil is the Liar that he is! He will do what he needs to do to trick us, offer us comfort in false ways, we must stand against these by having complete trust in what God is doing in our lives.
Prayers _ something given in this story is Brielle’s mom… She worshipped and prayed regularly for her husband and daughter. She prayed they would worship and see the heavenly. This struck home with my bible study on how our prayers can change the legacy for our children and grandchildren and beyond.

I would recommend this book. It does deal with child trafficking so I would be prepared before you pick up this series. It is truly an inspiring book that brings your mind into thinking of not just of life on this Earth. May we all start to look beyond our day to day.

Ties That Bind (Amish Fiction) Book 1

By Cindy Woodsmall
This story leaves you with a lot of questions while you read it.. Even half way through the book you are constantly turning pages to try to unravel all the mysteries. Then at the end you see where secrets can get you, learn about forgiveness, and how God lays out our plans in our lives. We must trust, forgive, and follow the path God has for you. This is a great book to being this series. You are left with a story line that you want to finish, which will lead you waiting for the 2nd book to come out to see the results. I would recommend this book, but I prefer to read books once I have a few of them in a series to read so I don't have to wait to see the end result. I received this book for free from Blogging for Books for this Honest review

A Reluctant Bride (Amish Fiction)

Kathleen Fuller did a great job on this book. It hit many different areas of abuse, loss of family, trust, and a lot to do with keeping secrets. Keeping secrets can cause a lot of hurt, but over time if a person faces things and opens up, they can allow themselves to heal. I enjoyed the Sadie and Aden story line. Their story kept me on the edge of my seat. The main story line of Aden and his brother Sol kept you wanting to keep turning pages to see how it ended. I love how she tied the end together. The 2nd book in this series comes out in March. I can’t wait to read to see how these family continue on their journey; however, you don’t have to read book 2 to complete the main story. The back of the book has discussion questions if you wanted this for a book club. If you love Amish fiction, you will love this book!!
