Parenting the wholehearted child by jeannie cunnion

This is an easy to read book about us parents not being perfect, needing that rest as parents (even if it is pulling away from our children) and trying daily to lead them to Christ. I felt it tugging at my heart as I read it, but I think mainly b/c the author and I share a first name and she uses her name a lot in the story, which was really what I needed. She gives a few options on how we can pray with our children, which I loved. The book is broken down into 4 areas: Imperfect Parents, perfect grace/ experiencing a vibrant friendship with Jesus (praying, bible, reading, etc)/ Growing in Christ like Character/ Leading with Unconditional love. I think this is more of a book that you take a chapter or 2 a day and ponder, vs trying to read it front to back in a few days. There is a lot of helpful advice that I am highlighting and flagging. Our main goal should always be constantly sharing God’s love with our child. We main fail some days, but pick yourself up and try again.( Deut. 6:6-9) Thank you to booklook blogger program for this copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.
